Wheatley, DDS, 68, of Confluence, died Nov. 15, 2000, at his home. Born Aug. 21, 1932, in Pittsburgh. A son of the late John H. and Violet (Carson) Wheatley. He was preceded in death by an infant grandson, Matthew Wesley. Survived by his wife, the former Patricia Farrell; two daughters, Becky Wheatley Spalla of York; and Vanessa M. Wheatley, at home; and five sons, John D. of Washington; Michael H. of Somerset; Patrick W., Daniel J., and Andrew K., all of Confluence; 14 grandchildren; a brother, David L. Wheatley of Avonmore; and three sisters, Mary E. Schillinger of Avon Lake, Ohio; Violet M. Boyd of Bethel; and Irene Peeples of Klamath Falls, Ore. He was a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh and the School of Dentistry. A member of the American Dental Association and ABLE Ministries. A former member of the Turkeyfoot Valley Area School Board. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean War and served as the baseball coach at Turkeyfoot Valley High School. Friends will be received at the Humbert Funeral Home, Confluence, from 2 to 9 p.m. Friday (today) and from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. Saturday, the hour of service, Bruce A. Mitchell officiating.
