  Lester S. "Banjo" Wheeler, 74, of Stoystown RD 3, died Oct. 20, 1986,
  at home.  Born Jan. 15, 1912, in Lambertsville, son of Leroy V. and
  Anna (Berkebile) Wheeler.  Preceded in death by parents; four
  brothers, Harold, Lloyd, Leroy and Kenneth; and grandson, Eric
  Wheeler.  Survived by widow, the former Helen June Escherich; and
  these children: Victor, married to former Wanda Ream, Jennerstown;
  Allen, married to former Eva Puschnigg, Jenners; Joyce, wife of James
  L. Kennedy, Stoystown RD 3; Tanis, wife of Robert Lepley, Pocono
  Mountain; Penny, wife of David Slowak, Stoystown RD 3; 11
  grandchildren; twin great-grandchildren; two step-grandchildren;
  also, one niece and two nephews.  Member of Jenner Local 1742,
  U.M.W.A.; and Jenner Rod and Gun Club.  Retired coal miner with 33
  years service.  Also retired livestock dealer with 17 years service.
  Observed 55th wedding anniversary Oct. 8, 1986.  Friends received
  from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at Hoffman
  Funeral Home, Allegheny Street, Boswell, where service will be held
  at 11 a.m. Thursday with the Rev. Walter J. Emswiler officiating. 
  Interment, Oddfellows Cemetery, Stoystown.
