Whetsell, 75, of Addison, died Jan. 17, 1999 at his home. Born June 30, 1923 in Confluence, a son of the late Edgar S. and Mary (Anderson) Whetsell. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Edgar and Harry. Survived by his wife, Mary F. (Sellers) Whetsell, a daughter Juliann Mitchell, of Kansas City, Mo., and a granddaughter, Mirabella; also a sister, Shirley Eberhart of Bedford. U.S. Army Corps Veteran of World War II. Member of the Addison United Methodist Church and Meyersdale Lodge 554 F. & A.M. He owned and operated Whetsell Lumber Company in Addison for 50 years. No visitation. A memorial service will be announced at a later date. Family suggests memorial contributions to the Addison United Methodist Church.
