Whetstone, 83, of Longview, Wash, died March 20, 2003 at Evergreen Americana Nursing Center, Longview. Born November 22, 1919 in Mt. Union, adopted daughter of Rev. Andrew J. and Etta (Kough) Replogle. Preceded in death by her parents, and husband of 57 years, Miles C. Whetstone; brothers Joe Pelozzie, Fred Pelozzie, William Pelozzie, Luther Nickoloff, Jesse Nickoloff, James Nickoloff, and great-grandson Andrew J. Colburn. Survived by son Gene C. Whetstone and wife Carol (Keirn) Whetstone of Stoystown; daughter Bonnie E. Colburn and husband Marvin L. Colburn and husband Marvin L. Colburn of Longview, Wash.; brothers Richard Nickoloff of Riverside, Calif., John Nickoloff of Scranton; sisters Kathryn Cramer of Martinsburg, Betty Gaeton of Scranton and Virginia Size of Scranton; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. She worked many years as a certified nursing assistant and secretary for various doctors, hospitals and nursing homes mostly in the Baltimore area. She worked 10 years for Martin Aircraft. Member of United Methodist Church in Bedford. Also member of the Eastern Star for 50 years. Graduate of Everett Area High School in 1938. She was married to Miles July 10, 1938 by her father. Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Louis Geisel Funeral Home, Bedford where a service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday with Rev. Sherman Berkey officiating.
