Born April 29, 1916 at Normalville. Son of the late Chester Nelson and Anna Mary (Stoetzel) Whipkey. Preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Roy Grimm and Clyde Whipkey and sisters Regina Holt and Elizabeth Geneva Hull. Survived by wife Margaret Ramp, and the following children: Chester Whipkey, New Oxford; David Whipkey, Irwin; Dale Whipkey, Pittsburgh; Thomas Whipkey, Gettysburg; Richard Whipkey, Hanover; Richard Ramp, Chesapeake Md.; Mrs. Patricia Gerhart, East Berlin; Mrs. Barbara Maurer, Listie; Mrs. Peggy Matkins, Temple Hill, Md.; Mrs. Ruth Savage, Monmouth Beach, N.J.; Mrs. Francis Rayman, Rockwood; 15 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Lifetime member of Listie Volunteer Fire Department, World War II veteran serving as sergeant in the U.S. Army. Retired PBS Coal Company employee. Friends were received Sunday and will be received 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Monday at the Wilbur D. Miller Funeral Home where funeral service will be conducted Tuesday 11 a.m. Rev. Larry Love, officiating. (Bush) Whipkey; and the following children: Mrs. Patricia A. (Whipkey) Gearhart of East Berlin; Chester Whipkey Jr. of New Oxford; David Whipkey of Irwin; Dale Whipkey of Pittsburgh; Thomas Whipkey of Gettysburg; Richard Whipkey of Hanover; eight grandchildren, one great-granddaughter and numerous nieces and nephews. He was a World War II veteran and an honorably discharged sergeant of the U.S. Army. He was a life member of the Listie Volunteer Fire Department. Retired PBS Coal Company employee.
