WHIPKEY, Evalene Irene

Evalene Irene Whipkey, 95, Berlin, died Sept. 21, 2006, at Meadow View Nursing 
Center, Berlin.  Born May 22, 1911, in Middlecreek Township, daughter of Jesse 
Franklin and Annie Clair (Faidley) Ream.  Preceded in death by parents; husband, 
Jay Burton Whipkey Sr., who died July 22, 1984; brother, Wilbur Ream; sisters, 
Blanche Singo-Ansell, Elta Brant and Luella Lehman. Survived by children, Mrs. 
Paul (Doris) Deeter, Ashland, Ohio; Jay B. Whipkey Jr., married to the former 
Doris Zorn, James R. Whipkey, married to the former Nancy Griffith, Mrs. Delores 
Holland, all of Berlin; Mrs. Donna Henry, Elkton, Md.; Mrs. Philip R. (Drucilla) 
Martz, Fairhope; and Mrs. Deborah Speaks, Moneta, Va.  Also survived by 13 
grand-children, 30 great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter.  Also 
a brother, Elwood Ream, Rockwood.  Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 
9 p.m. Saturday at the Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home, Somerset, where a service 
will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday.  The Rev. Ralph Landis officiating. 
Interment, New Centerville Union Cemetery.  Contributions may be sent to
