  WHIPKEY
  
    John H. Whipkey Jr., 63, of 520 Old Fredonia Rd., Mercer, formerly
  of the Boswell area, died July 22, 1998, at the Winchester Medical
  Center, Winchester, Va.  Born April 29, 1935, in Wilbur.  Son of John
  H. Sr. and Evelyn (Albright) Whipkey.  Preceded in death by parents
  and these sisters and brothers: Freeman, James, Aaron, Gertrude,
  Dorothy and Betty.  Survived by his wife, the former Fay Woy;
  children: Tammy, wife of Louis Augestine, Greenville; Scott B. Sr.,
  married to Susan Nagel, Princeton, Texas, and Sherrie Anthony,
  Martinsburg, W.Va.  Grandchildren: Scott Whipkey Jr., Tiffany
  Shipton, Bill Anthony and John and Krista Simandl.  Also survived by
  mother-in-law, Beatrice Woy, Friedens; brother, Franklin,
  Fredricksburg [sic], Va., and sister, Elsie Taylor, Ravenna, Ohio. 
  Attended the Mercer Nazarene Church.  Member of the Wilbur Rhodes
  Post No. 634, VFW, and was an Air Force Veteran of the Korean War. 
  Retired truck driver for Cooper-Jarrett Inc.  Observed 40th wedding
  anniversary Dec. 31, 1997.  Friends received from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.
  Friday at the Hoffman Funeral Home, Allegheny Street, Boswell, where
  service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, with the Rev. Gary W.
  Anderson officiating.  Interment, Beam Cemetery, near Gray.
