  WHIPKEY
  
    Martha Bush Whipkey, 73, Rankin, formerly of Somerset County, died
  March 30, 1996, in Shadyside Hospital, Pittsburgh.  Born April 15,
  1922, in Blough, Somerset County, daughter of the late Frank S. and
  Stella G. (Johnson) Bush.  Preceded in death by these brothers and
  sisters: Edward, Chester and Telford Bush, Jean Hersh and Helen
  Chambers.  Survived by these children: Chester E., Rankin; Robert
  David, Apollo; Richard E., Hanover; Thomas D., Philipsburg; Dale E.,
  Rankin; and Patricia Gearhart, East Berlin, Pa.; eight grandchildren;
  three great-grandchildren.  Sister of Bertha Gindlesperger, Turtle
  Creek; Margaret Micholson, Warren Ohio; Stella McGraw, North
  Versailles; and Robert Bush, Somerset.  She was a dedicated
  homemaker.  Friends received from 7-9 p.m., today and 2-4 and 7-9
  p.m., Tuesday at the Robert H. Halverson Funeral Home, where service
  will be conducted Wednesday 11 a.m. Rev. Harry Nye officiating. 
  Interment Somerset County Memorial Park.  In lieu of flowers,
  memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society.
