Whipkey, 75, of Rockwood RD 2, died Sept. 7, 1989 at Somerset Hospital. Born Nov. 30, 1913, in Middlecreek Township, son of the late Charles F. and Carrie (Pyle) Whipkey. Also preceded in death by first wife, Lola (Barkman) Whipkey; a grandson, Randy Schrock; and brother, Jay Whipkey. Survived by second wife, Mildred H. (Pritts) Cane Whipkey; children: Mrs. Dwight (Miriam) Schrock of Ypsilanti, Mich.; Mrs. Raymond (Maxine) Temple of Rockwood RD 3; Mrs. Clark (Carole) Hoffman of Kenton, Ohio; Blair B. of Rockwood RD 2; Mrs. Dale (Eileen) Baker of Markleton RD 1; Mrs. Robert (Lois) Sembower Jr. of Somerset; stepchildren: Robert M. Cane of Somerset RD 1; Mrs. Joseph (Patricia) Chalfant of Painesville, Ohio; Richard D. Cane of Rockwood RD 2; Mrs. Clyde (Peggy) Streiner of Connellsville; Mrs. Darwin (Cindy) Baker of Markleton RD 1; Miss Carol Cane of Somerset RD 7; Rusty L. Cane of Rockwood RD 2; and Mrs. Paul (Ruthie) Will of Friedens RD 2; 18 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; sister, Mrs. Wilbur (Alverta) Ream of Listie. Member of St. Paul Lutheran Church; past president of New Centerville Lions Club; and member of the Bedford Lodge, Woodman of the World. Friends will be received 7-9 p.m. Friday and 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Saturday at the Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home where service will be held Sunday at 1:30 p.m. with the Rev. Roger Steiner officiating.
