  WHITACRE
  
    Mabel I. Whitacre, 87, Berlin, died April 28, 1993, at Somerset
  Hospital.  Born July 21, 1905 in Elk Lick Township, daughter of Jonas
  and Mary (Reitz) Peck.  Preceded in death by parents, and husband,
  Bursey Charles "Cy" Whitacre.  Also brothers, William and Ralph Peck,
  and sister, Ruth Lohr.  Survived by a son, William married to the
  former Ruth E. Stuck of Berlin; granddaughter, Michele Ann James,
  Meyersdale RD 4; and great-grandsons, Jason Addair and Conner
  James.  Sister of Miriam Lease and Alma Myers, both of Westminster,
  Md., and Paul Peck, Springs.  Member of Berlin Brethren Church,
  Mountain Homemakers, Second Society of Farm Women and Berlin Senior
  Citizens.  Family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday and
  2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Deaner Funeral Home, Berlin, where
  service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Rev. Bryan G. Karchner. 
  Interment, Upper Springs Cemetery.  Memorial contributions may be
  given to Berlin Brethren Church.
