Whitaker, 68, of 1901 Hillside Ave., Windber, died June 14, 1994 at home. Born Dec. 10, 1925 in Ogletown, son of Leslie L. and Elizabeth (Seese) Whitaker. Preceded in death by father. Survived by mother, Windber; wife, the former Annabelle Baumgardner, Windber, and daughters, Deborah, wife of Timothy Olson, Richland, and Betsy, Silver Spring, Md. Also survived by grandsons, Erik and Christopher. Member of the Calvary United Methodist Church, Windber; Johnstown Lodge 538, F. & A.M., and the Altoona Shrine; director of former Citizens Bank in Windber; currently on the Board of Directors of Cenwest. Past member of the Somerset County Redevelopment Authority; past member of the Windber Hospital Board of Directors; member and past president of Windber Rotary Club; original member and stockholder of the Windber Country Club; member of the President's Inner Circle, University of Pittsburgh; currently chairman of the Windber Area Authority and owner-operator of Leslie L. Whitaker and Son. Army veteran of World War II. Friends were received at Meek Funeral home, Inc., Windber, where service will be held 2 p.m. (today) Friday, the Revs. Howard Greenfield and Kermit Jones. Entombment, Richland Mausoleum.
