White, 72, of Indian Head, died Wednesday, Aug. 1, 1990, in Memorial Hospital, Johnstown. He was born July 29, 1918, in Indian Head, a son of the late Alva H. and Lydia C. (Cramer) White. He was a lifelong resident of Indian Head. Was a retired millwright for the U.S. Steel Corporation, Homestead Works. Veteran of World War II, where he served in the 81th [sic] Wildcat Division. He was stationed in the Pacific Theatre. Member of Donegal American Legion and Polish Club of Connellsville. He is survived by his wife, Tharon L. (Morris) White; two sons, Ronald D. and Samuel L. White, both of Indian Head; a daughter, Mrs. Kerry (Sandra) L. Morrison, Indian Head: four grandchildren; a brother, Harry J. White of Champion, and two sisters, Mrs. Weldon (Katherine) Livingood, Champion, and Mrs. Jean Brant of Ohio. In addition to parents, preceded in death by a brother, Earl D. White, and a sister, Mary Taxacher. Friends will be received in the Clyde Brooks Funeral Home, Inc., Route 711, Melcroft, from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday and from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday. Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. David T. Huey officiating. Interment, Mt. Nebo Cemetery. Daily American, August 2, 1990 [W1104]
