MARTHA A. WHITE

  Martha A. White died at her home on Gay Street at 8:30 a.m., Saturday, May 22, 
of leukemia.  She had been ill for a year or more, and in serious condition 
during the past few weeks.
  She was born near Zanesville, O., on May 28, 1876, daughter of John A. and 
Susan C. (Baer) White, and was six days short of 72 years at her death.  She is 
survived by one son, Harold; one sister, Mrs. Margaret Engle of Mt. Pleasant, 
and one brother, Pearley White of Meyersdale, R. D. 3.
  Funeral services were conducted at the home of her nephew, Franklin Engle, at 
2 p.m., on Monday, May 24, with the Rev. George E. Bowersox, Jr., pastor of St. 
John's Lutheran Church, of which she was a member, officiating.  Interment was 
made in the Meyersdale Union Cemetery in charge of Mortician Stanley M. Thomas.
