Pleasant. Born April 13, 1926 in Melcroft, a son of the late Gilbert H. and Nellie (Brown) White. In addition to his parents he was pre-deceased by 2 brothers Reed and Merle White. Survived by his wife of 51 years, Dorothy J. (Cunnard) White; son Douglas White and daughter Valerie White, both of Mt. Pleasant; 2 granddaughters, Ashleigh and Andrea White both of Acme; 2 brothers, Bernard White of Jones Mills and Paul White and his wife, Nancy of Indian Head; and a sister Fern McGinley of Acme. A life-long resident of the Jones Mills area and an owner/partner in the White Lumber Company in Champion. Veteran of World War II having served in the U.S. Navy and was a member of the Donegal VFW #6743. Attended the County Line Church of the Brethren in Champion. Friends will be received from 2-9 p.m. Monday in the Clyde Brooks Funeral Home Inc., Route 711, Melcroft, where funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday with Pastor Barry Conn and Rev. Dennis Arndt officiating. Committal service and interment will follow in Green Ridge Memorial Park, Pennsville. Daily American, June 12, 2000 [W1110]
