White, 88, of Bungard Road, Markleton, passed on Nov. 26, 2001 at home. Born Nov. 11, 1913 in Upper Turkeyfoot Township. Son of the late John and Emma (Phillippi) White. Preceded in death by parents; an infant son; sisters Alice Sechler, Nellie Romesburg and Hazel Trout; and two brothers. Survived by wife of 65 years, Violet (Peck) White; sons James, married to Patricia White of Geneva, Ill., and Douglass White of Montgomery, Ala.; grandsons Jason and Eric White; and great-grandchildren Kyle, Michael and Alicia White. Member of the Kingwood Church of God, where he was very active in a number of roles over the years. He was a past recipient of the Kingwood Grange Citizen of the Year award. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Miller Funeral Home, Rockwood. A service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Kingwood Church of God, pastor James Monticue officiating. There will be one hour of visitation prior to the service. Interment, Kingwood I.O.O.F.
