  WHITFIELD
  
  Roy William Whitfield, 67, of Acosta, died at his residence Feb. 19,
  1979.  Born July 28, 1911, in Bedford County, son of the late William
  G. and Annie (Clark) Whitfield.  Survived by widow, the former Mary
  Merringer, and these children:  James, William E., Ronald L., all of
  Cleveland, Ohio; and Barry W. of Larain, Ohio; ten grandchildren; and
  these brothers and sisters:  Rosell and Walter Whitfield, both of
  Johnstown; Mrs. Irene Hall of Altoona and Mrs. Elizabeth Engle of
  Crapo, Md.  Member of the Church of God.  Friends are being received
  at the Richard E. Hauger Funeral Home, where services will be held at
  1:30 p.m. Thursday, the Rev. Lloyd A. McCollum and the Rev. Russell
  Hawk officiating.  Interment, Bethany Cemetery.
