  WHITEMAN
  
    Annie J. Whiteman, 94, of Confluence, died June 28, 2000, at the
  Goodwill Mennonite Home, Grantsville, Md.  She was born Dec. 11,
  1905, in Garrett County, Md., a daughter of the late Nelson and
  Fannie (Burkholder) Wilt.  In addition to her parents, she was
  preceded in death by husbands Howard Bittinger and Charles Whiteman,
  son Lee Bittinger, and daughters Myrtle and Marie Bittinger and Edith
  Turney.  Also 13 brothers and sisters.  She is survived by a daughter,
  Patsy Bittinger of Hagerstown, Md., a step-daughter, Geraldine
  Michaels of Westerport, Md., 15 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren
  and sisters Elsie and Edna.  Friends will be received at the Humbert
  Funeral Home in Confluence from 7 to 9 p.m. today and from 10 a.m. to
  2 p.m., Friday the hour of service, with the Rev. James Thompson
  officiating.  Interment, Baptist Cemetery.
