Whitmer, 38, died May 11, 2003 at the Medical University in Charleston, S.C., from injuries suffered in a motorcycle accident. Born June 15, 1964 in Centreville, Va., the youngest son of Daniel J. and Vivian J. Schaeffer Whitmer. Survived by wife the former Nikki L. (Costea) Whitmer; parents of Luray, Va.; brothers, Daniel L. Whitmer and his wife, Anita of Fredericksburg, Va. and Allen Whitmer and his wife, Nila of Manassas, Va.; sister, Spring Busicchia and her husband, Russell of Centreville, brothers-in-law Brian Costea and his wife, Pam of Stoystown and Steve Costea and his wife, Beth of Somerset; sisters-in-law Jill Huff and her husband, Chris of Chantilly, Va. and Janine Stover and her husband, Ken of Freeport; numerous nieces and nephews and a large extended family. He was a 1982 graduate of Fairfax High School and had recently moved to Conway in November 2002. A memorial service will be held 4 p.m. Sunday at the First Christian Church, 139 E. Main St. in Somerset. Burial will be private. The family will receive friends following the service.
