WILAND Re-burial services were held for Pvt. Clarence E. Wiland, Friday, April 29, in the Antietam National Cemetery, Shaysburg, Md., with last rites in charge of the Hagerstown American Legion. Pvt. Wiland was born Oct. 2, 1927, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Wiland, formerly of Meyersdale, now of Salem, N.J. He enlisted in the U.S. Armed Service, November 1944, and served with the 82nd Airbourn division as a paratrooper. He was killed in action in Germany April 15, 1945. His body was interred in Holland. He is survived by his parents, a sister, Juanita, and a brother, Kenneth. Among those attending the funeral were Mrs. Margaret O'Neil, Mrs. Hugh Houston, Mr. and Mrs. Theodore Baer and son Teddy, and Beverly Dugan, Meyersdale; also Mr. and Mrs. Homer Wiland and daughter Thomasine of Republic, Pa. Meyersdale Republican, May 5, 1949
