JOHN F. WILAND

  John F. Wiland, 87, a lifelong resident of Meyersdale, died at 3:45 Monday 
afternoon at the home of his son, Homer Wiland, in Republic, Pa.  He was a son 
of Mary and Jeremiah Wiland, born on Jan. 21, 1858, in Maryland.  He was a 
member of the Methodist Church.
  Surviving are four sons - William, Kingwood, W.Va.; Clarence, Cumberland, Md.; 
Frank, Salem, N.J., and Homer, mentioned above, and three daughters - Mrs. Ray 
O'Neil, Mrs. Charles Houston and Mrs. Theodore Baer, all of Meyersdale.  There 
are 26 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
  Funeral services were conducted at 2:30 p.m., this Thursday afternoon at the 
home of his son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Ray O'Neil.  Interment was 
made in Union Cemetery under the direction of W. C. Price & Son, Meyersdale.
