WILHELM, Carl Boyd

Carl Boyd Wilhelm, 88, Pocahontas, died Oct. 20, 2006, at his residence. Born 
May 28, 1918, in Sommerfield, Pa., he is the son of the late Dewey Wilhelm and 
Daisy (McKenzie) Wilhelm. Carl was also preceded in death by two sisters, Sylva 
and Helen; one brother, Bernard; and one daughter, Evelena Doell. He was the 
last surviving member of his immediate family. Surviving are his wife of 69 
years, Genevieve (Drees) Wilhelm; one son, Boyd Wilhelm, at home; one daughter, 
Donna Kelley and husband, Wayne, Springs; eight grandchildren, Laurie Smith, Jim 
Doell, John Doell, Chris Davis, Dan Doell, Alena McKenzie, Aaron Holler and 
Lucinda Brennaman; and 19 great-grandchildren. Mr. Wilhelm was retired from the 
filtration department at the former Celanese Fibers Corp. He is a U.S. Army 
veteran of World War II. Carl was a member of Saint Mary Catholic Church, 
Pocahontas. A funeral Mass was celebrated at St. Mary Church, Pocahontas, on 
Monday with the Rev. Albert J. Anselmi as celebrant. Military honors were 
accord-ed at graveside. Interment was in the Greenville Cemetery, Pocahontas.
