  RUTH JOYCE (MAPES) WILKINS
  
  Ruth Joyce (Mapes) Wilkins, 73, Windber, formerly of Somerset, passed
  on March 7, 2004, at Windber Hospice.  Born Jan. 8, 1931, in
  Quemahoning Township, she is the daughter of the late William D. and
  Ruth (Rice) Rummel.  She is preceded in death by her parents;
  husbands, Robert G. Mapes and Wayne F. Wilkins, and sister, Marion
  June Wilkins.  She is survived by her daughter Barbara Joyce, wife of
  Robert Reese, of Virginia; son Robert Barry Mapes of Florida; beloved
  niece and nephew Dianna and Herbert Wilkins of Somerset; sister Betty
  Ann, wife of Eugene Kauffman of Somerset; brother, William Rummel Jr.
  of Johnstown; stepchildren, Wayne and Michelle Wilkins;
  granddaughters, Michelle, wife of Terrance Hunt, of Pittsburgh,
  Melinda Reese, Victoria, wife of Timothy Snyder and Jennifer Reese,
  all of Virginia, great-grandchildren, Julia and Jacob Snyder and Ian
  and Aiden Hunt; great-nieces Teresa, Andrea, Amy and Alicia and
  great-nephew, Stephen.  She was a member of Trinity United Methodist
  Church, Scalp Level, and a former member of the Somerset Church of
  the Brethren.  Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday
  at Miller Funeral Home, Somerset, where a service will be held at 11
  a.m. Thursday.  The Rev. Art Moffat Jr. officiating.  Interment
  Somerset County Memorial Park.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may
  be sent to Windber Hospice, 600 Somerset Ave., Windber, Pa. 15963.
