Will, 57, of Cedar Drive, Ebensburg, went to be with the Lord Jan. 29, 2000, after a brave fight with a short-term illness. Born Aug. 1, 1942, in Milton, Mass., son of Arthur and Margaret (Moran) Will. Preceded in death by parents, and father and mother-in-law Robert and Ruth (Edwards) Martin. Survived by beloved wife of almost 34 years, Darlene (Martin) Will; daughter and son-in-law, Brenda and Joseph Piacentini; grandchildren Juliana and Nicholas James Piacentini, all of Hollidaysburg; brother Arthur Joseph Will, Hyde Park, Mass.; godmother and special aunt, Virginia Banis, Stoughton, Mass.; and brothers and sisters-in-law: George and Lillian Martin, Hightstown, N.J., Raymond and Hope Martin, Hamilton Square, N.J., and Leonard and Bertha Martin, Hooversville. Also numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Member of Braintree Baptist Church, Braintree, Mass., and attended Ebensburg United Methodist Church. Was a graduate of St. Francis College. Retired from the U.S. Navy as chief construction mechanic in July 1999 after 27 years of service. Formerly employed by BethEnergy Mines #31 and #33 for 20 years. Recently employed by Appalachia Intermediate Unit 8 as transportation coordinator. Past master of Summit Lodge #312 F&AM, where he was a trustee and served twice as worshipful master. Member of AASR, Valley of Altoona, Scottish Rite and Altoona Jaffa Shrine, where he was a member of the Legion of Honor. Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. today (Monday) and 2 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc., Ebensburg, where a Masonic service will be held 7 p.m. Tuesday. Funeral service at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Ebensburg United Methodist Church, Pastor Donald Rainey officiating. Military graveside services and interment at McDowell Cemetery, Alverda. Because of Jim's compassion and devotion to children with special needs, in lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Shriners Children's Hospital through the Jaffa Shrine, Altoona.
