    Charles Lowell Williams, 70, Penn Avenue, Boswell RD, died May 14,
  2001, at home.  Born March 31, 1931, in Boswell, son of Charles and
  Mildred M. (Holsopple) Williams.  Preceded in death by parents, and
  brothers: Walter "Zeke" and Richard "Sonny."  Survived by wife, the
  former Shirley Putman, children: Charles A. Williams, married to
  Debra Cullpepper, Fredricksburgh, Va.; Richard E. Williams, Florida;
  Carol Jean Williams, Virginia; Belinda, wife of Tom Schrock,
  Somerset; Margaret, wife of Sal Trobiano, Troy, Ala.; James A.
  Shaffer, Friedens; Donald R. Shaffer, Shanksville; Robert W. Shaffer,
  married to Cheryl Saylor, Troy, Ala.; and Melissa, wife of John
  Phillippi, Boswell RD; and numerous grandchildren and
  great-grandchildren.  Brother of: William J., married to Betty
  Vinosky, Johnstown; Bety Ann, wife of Robert Winters, Rector; Robert
  I., Alexandria, Va.; Gary W., married to Donna Armagost and James W.,
  married to Sharon Monteith, both of Fairfax, Va.; and Connie, wife of
  Thomas Magdic, Ligonier; also survived by numerous nieces, and
  nephews and other relatives.  Member of First Christian Church,
  Somerset; Jenner Rod and Gun Club, Somerset Post 544 V.F.W., Boswell,
  Post 461 American Legion and life-member of Johnstown Chapter 2 D.A.V.
  Air Force Veteran of the Korean War.  Retired heavy equipment operator
  and formerly employed by the North Star School District.  No viewing
  or visitation.  Following cremation, family and friends are invited
  to graveside service at 10 a.m. Friday at the Jenner Crossroads
  Cemetery, with the Rev. Joseph Beer officiating.  Arrangements in
  charge of Hoffman Funeral Homes.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may
  be given to the Regional Hospice at Windber, 600 Somerset Avenue,
  Windber, Pa. 15963.
