Williams, 68, of Somerset, died June 12, 1989, Somerset Hospital. Born Jan. 11, 1921 in Cleveland, Ohio. A daughter of the late Rev. J.F. and Edna Mae (Williams) Messenger Sr. Also preceded in death: by brother the Rev. J. Fenton Messenger Jr.; a sister Esther Weitzel. Survived by husband Walter L.; sister-in-law Ms. Doris Messenger; brother-in-law Robert Weitzel. Member of the First Christian Church, Somerset. Retired employee of Somerset County with 30 years. Served as first deputy prothonotary and Child Welfare office. A graduate of Juniata College, a veteran of World War II serving with the U.S. Coast Guard Women's Reserve. Friends received 7 to 9 Tuesday in the Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home. Private graveside service and interment will be conducted Wednesday at the Husband Cemetery. The Rev. William Sleasman officiating.
