  WILLIAMS
  
    William A. Williams, 71, Friedens, died Jan. 1, 1990, at Somerset
  Hospital.  Born Nov. 17, 1918, in St. Louis, Mo., son of the late
  Ralph A. and Bessie Ruth (Ladd) Williams.  Preceded in death by one
  son.  Survived by wife of 42 years, the former Gertrude Shaulis, and
  the following children: Ralph, South Carolina; Mrs. Paul (Cecelia)
  Tanko, Warren, Ohio; Gertrude Wilson, Somerset; Gary Patrick, York,
  and Thomas Paul, Listie; three sisters: Gertrude Williams,
  California; Georgia Leffler, Florida; and Annalee Ladd, Missouri; 12
  grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren.  Retired U.S. Steel employee of
  Pittsburgh.  Graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday
  at Somerset County Memorial Park, Rev. Dale Lyzbicki officiating. 
  Memorial contributions may be given to the American Cancer Society. 
  No visitation or viewing of the remains.  Arrangements under the
  direction of the Wilbur D. Miller Funeral Home.
