Wenzel and other members of his family on March 15th attended the funeral of Richard Willis, the second uncle of Dr. Wenzel to die within a week, the first having been George Willis, whose death was reported in the issue of The Republican of March 13th. Richard Willis, a younger brother of George Willis, both bachelors, was born April 10, 1850, and died on the old home farm near Lohmansville, W.Va., on Thursday, March 13th, in the 81st year of his age. Near relatives surviving are two brothers and one sister - Abraham Willis, Lohmansville, W.Va.; James Willis, Burlington, W.Va., and Mrs. Mary Van Fleet, Lohmansville, W.Va. Funeral services were conducted at the late home of the deceased on March 15th by Rev. Benjamin Reed, of Burlington, W.Va., pastor of the United Presbyterian Church. Interment in the home burying ground, alongside his brother, who was laid to rest there on Monday of the same week. Meyersdale Republican, March 27, 1930
