Wilson, 33, son of Councilman James L. Wilson Sr. of Meyersdale, died Thursday, Dec. 26, at the home of his parents on Large Street after an extended illness. He was born in Meyersdale on September 19, 1907. Surviving are his parents, James L. and Nellie (Askey) Wilson, and two sisters, Mrs. Mae Wetmiller, Pittsburgh, and Mrs. Margaret Beach, Alliance, O. James was of a kindly and cheerful disposition and had many friends. He took an active interest in civic enterprises and local sports, until the last two years, when due to ill health his activities were limited. He was a member of the Meyersdale Fire Department and his fire "buddies" were pallbearers and honorary pallbearers, escorting his remains to their last resting place. For a number of years he assisted his parents in the operation of Wilson's restaurant, where his genial presence will be missed. Funeral services were conducted at 2:30 o'clock Saturday afternoon at the Wilson home by Rev. S. D. Sigler, pastor of the Salisbury Lutheran Church, assisted by Rev. Howard K. Hilner, pastor of the Zion Lutheran Church of Meyersdale. Interment was in Union Cemetery under the direction of R. Reich & Son, local morticians. Meyersdale Republican, January 2, 1941
