She was born in Garrett County, Maryland, on November 30, 1878, daughter of Henry and Rachel (Bittinger) Platter, and was 66 years and 18 days old at her death. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Wilt is survived by five daughters: Bertha, wife of Lawrence Bittinger, Salisbury; Hulda, wife of Walter Shaffer, Meyersdale; Clara, wife of Truman Butler, Fairview, Md.; Velma, wife of Frank Bittinger, Grantsville, Md., and Cecilia, wife of Lloyd Bittinger, Jennings, Md.; six sons: Silas, West Salisbury; Dewey, Sand Patch; James, Swanton, Md., and Harry, Ray and Ivan, Jennings, Md.; 73 grandchildren and 34 great- grandchildren; two sisters: Mrs. Elizabeth Wilt, Westernport, Md., and Lydia, wife of Joseph Bittinger, Leisenring, Pa., and three brothers: Henry, Jr., and Jacob Platter, Jennings, Md., and Thomas Platter, Meyersdale. Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, in the Bittinger Church of the Brethren, with the pastor officiating. Interment in the Bittinger Cemetery, in charge of Mortician Stanley M.
