Born February 9, 1929, in Jennings, Md., he is the son of the late Ray and Gladys (Palmer) Wilt. He is preceded in death by one son, Donald Wilt; one brother, Clair "Nook" Wilt; and two sisters, Hattie "Pat" Housel and Frances Greene. Surviving are his wife, Bonnie Louise (Skinner) Wilt, Grantsville; four sons, Kenneth Wilt, Confluence, David ("Flaky") Wilt, Grantsville, Billie Joe Wilt, Rockwood, and Robert Wilt, Shepherdsville, Ky.; four daughters, Betty Tressler, Fort Hill, Barbara Truman, Newton, W.Va., Peggy Brown and Ellen Spiker, both of Grantsville; two brothers, Robert L. Wilt, New Smyrna Beach, Fla., and Willard "Jake" Wilt, Grantsville; one sister, Phyllis Donahue, Grantsville, nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Mr. Wilt was a member of Jennings United Methodist Church, the Mountain Top Wagon Train, Turkeyfoot Fish and Game Club, and Confluence VFW Social Member. He was a truck driver for Automobile Transport Inc., prior to his retirement. Friends will be received from 2 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Newman Funeral Homes, P.A., 179 Miller St., Grantsville, Md. Funeral service will be conducted 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. The Rev. Mary Radford and the Rev. Bill Durst officiating. Interment will be in the Grantsville Cemetery.
