He had been in failing health for some time, and when he contracted the flu the same week, lived but a few days. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Laura (Layton) Winebrenner, and eight sons and three daughters - Howard, James, Roy, Harry, Clayton, Francis and Leonard, and Mrs. Alice Hetz, Mrs. Myrtle Wade and Nellie, all residing nearby in Garrett County. Funeral services were conducted at his home at 2:30 p.m., on Monday, December 31, with the Rev. Ray Crowe, pastor of the Midland, Md., Methodist Church officiating. Interment in the Mt. Zion Cemetery in Garrett County in charge of Durst & Son, Frostburg undertakers. Meyersdale Republican, January 3, 1946
