Born Aug. 24, 1951, in Johnstown, son of the late Lester and June C. (Reed) Wingard. Survived by wife, Patricia (Holsopple); and children, Kimberly Wingard, Robesonia; and Brian, at home. Brother of Donald D. Sr., married to the former Elsa Siehl, Johnstown; Carol A. Gittler, Wernersville; and Robert L., Johnstown. Member of Bethel United Methodist Church, Hollsopple. A 1969 graduate of Greater Johnstown High School. He served in the U.S. Army as an airborne ranger, Company B of the 304th Signal Battalion. Former employee of Johnstown and Stonycreek Railroad and PBS Coal Inc., where he was a weigh master and clerk. He enjoyed fishing with his son, was a model train enthusiast and was an avid rail fan. Friends received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday at John Henderson Co. Funeral Home, 215 Central Ave., Johnstown, where a funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday. The Rev. Dr. David W. Pitkins. Interment, Benshoff Hill Cemetery, where military rites will be conducted by Menoher Post 155 Ritual Team. Contributions may be made to the charity of one's choice.
