All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/somerset/ ________________________________________________ ELIZA WINGENROTH Mrs. Eliza Wingenroth died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. John Bixler, at Blairsville, Pa., on August 15th, aged 80 years, 2 months and 1 day, after a short illness, although she had been in delicate health for a number of years. She was born in Allegheny County June 6, 1850. Her maiden name was Eliza Anna Dunseth. She was married to Charles Wingenroth, July 4, 1872. He died, August 19, 1919. Ten children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Wingenroth, of whom the five sons preceded their mother to the grave. The five daughters survive; they are: Mrs. C. L. Groff, Confluence; Mrs. John Bixler, Blairsville; Mrs. D. W. Mitchell, Philadelphia; Mrs. Fred T. Jeffries, Belle Vernon, and Mrs. Frank L. Sullivan, Erie. After her marriage, Mrs. Wingenroth and husband resided for a while in Wilkinsburg. The last 18 years before her husband's death they lived in Erie. Since his death she lived with her daughter. She was a member of the Martha Hearre Memorial Presbyterian Church of Erie and was a sincere christian. The remains were taken from Blairsville where she died, to the home of her daughter, Mrs. Frank L. Sullivan, in Erie, where the funeral took place on August 18th. The pastor of the church in Erie where she worshiped officiated at the funeral services. The pall-bearers were six grandsons. The five daughters, with their husbands, and 23 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren attended the funeral. Interment in Erie cemetery. Meyersdale Republican, August 28, 1930
