  VIOLA M. WINKLER
  
    Viola Mary Winkler, 80, of Railroad Street, Barton, Md., died
  Monday, Oct. 24, 1988, at her residence.
    She was born in Bond, Md., on April 11, 1908, a daughter of the
  late Samuel J. and Elizabeth (Livengood) Swauger.
    She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Thomas Winkler, in
  1961.
    She was a member of St. Gabriel's Catholic Church, Barton, Md.
    Surviving are four sons:  Charles Winkler, Frostburg, Md.; Leo
  Winkler, Gaithersburg, Md.; Earl Winkler, Frostburg, Md.; and George
  Winkler, Delaware; a daughter, Mrs. Angela Ritchie, Frederick, Md.; a
  half-brother, Lee Swauger, Springs; 11 grandchildren; and seven
  great-grandchildren.
    Friends were received at the Boal-Warnick Memorial Chapel in Barton
  Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
    Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Gabriel's
  Catholic Church. Thursday at 10 a.m. by Father Paul Byrnes.
    Interment will be in St. Gabriel's Cemetery, Barton, Md.
