Born Dec. 25, 1936, in Jenners, son of Peter and Josephine (Stridinger) Winovich. Preceded in death by parents; sister, Amelia Keller; brother James; and mother- and father-in-law, Ethel I. (Fuller) and Joseph C. Pronesti. Survived by wife of 49 years, the former Celestine M. (Pronesti); daughter Tracy, married to Rodney S. Bullard, Monrovia, Md.; son Joseph D. Sr., married to Andrea Fousek, Clarksburg, Md.; grandchildren, Alexandra and Carter Bullard, and Joseph Jr. and Julia Winovich; sister Grace Raye, Baltimore; and brother, George, Rockville, Md. Also survived by sisters-in-law, Victoria (Pronesti) DelSignore-Thomas, Boswell; and Mary Ann (Pronesti), married to William Rector, Rockville, Md., and numerous other relatives and friends. A 1954 graduate of the former JBJ joint schools, where he was an outstanding football player and wrestler. Also played in the former Somerset County Baseball League. Member of the Knights of Columbus and St. Patrick's Catholic Church, both of Olney. Retired from the federal government after 32 years of service and more recently retired from the Montgomery County schools. Viewing from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Hoffman Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Main Street, Boswell, where vigil for the deceased will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday.
