Winter, a good and well-known citizen of Elk Lick Township, died suddenly at his home in the village of St. Paul, August 4, at the age of 70 years, 7 months and 29 days. He was a son of the late Augustus and Rebecca Mull Winter, and died of a cerebral hemorrhage. For many years he worked about the coal mines in the Elk Lick region as a blacksmith, and at other work. He had many friends among those who knew him well. He is survived by his wife, Agnes, and by one sister, Mrs. Ida Robertson of Eckhart, Md. Funeral services were conducted at the Saint Paul Evangelical and Reformed Church, by Rev. S. D. Sigler of Salisbury, assisted by Rev. Alvin J. Forry of St. Paul, at 3 p.m., last Friday. Interment was in the St. Paul Cemetery, under the direction of Stanley M. Thomas. Meyersdale Republican, August 12, 1943
