Winters, 69, of Midland, Md.; died in the Allegany County Nursing Home, Jan. 23, 1982. Born in Frostburg, Md., he was a son of the late William Winters and Tresa (Trapp) Winters. He was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Midland, the Holy Name Society and had been an employee of Amcelle Plant. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Mary A. (Hunt) Winters; two daughters, Mrs. Mary Joan Coleman, Fort Hall, Idaho, and Mrs. Mary M. Metz, Midland; two sons, Charles A. Winters Jr., Cumberland, Md.; and James R. Winters, Cumberland; six sisters, Mrs. Mary Russell, Mount Savage; and Mrs. Agnes Robinson and Miss Berry Winters, both of Cumberland; Mrs. Martha Ann Wilson, Gilmore; Mrs. Angela Knieriem, Meyersdale; Mrs. Rose Mansfield, Joplin, Md.; two brothers, Richard Winters, Lonaconing, Md., and Leonard Winters, Hagerstown; 12 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Friends were received at Eichhorn Fuenral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated in St. Joseph's Church. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. The Republic, January 28, 1982 [W1550]
