Winters, 87, died June 23, 1980 at his residence. He was born March 6, 1893 at Midland, Md., and was a son of the late Aaron C. Winters and Clara (Harden) Winters. His wife, Margaret (Lewis) Winters preceded him in death. He was a coal miner and member of the United Mine Workers of America. He is survived by one son, Lloyd H. Winters, Fort Ashby; four daughters, Mrs. Anna Sponaugle, Davis, W.Va.; Mrs. Clara Galaska, Cleveland, Ohio; Mrs. Margaret Huntsman, Friendsville, Md.; Mrs. Freda Iden, Deer Park, Md.; one brother, George Winters, Boynton; 12 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, four step-grandchildren. Friends were received at the Hinkle Funeral Home, where services were conducted by the Rev. Harley Baldwin. Interment will be in Rose Hill Cemetery, Thomas. The Republic, June 26, 1980 [W1558]
