Born March 16, 1905, in Carrolltown, Cambria County, daughter of John C. and Sarah (Dunmire) Griffith. Preceded in death by parents; husband, Harry E. "Short," in 1972; sisters, Bessie Probst, Lola, Mary, Anna Lohr and Marie Yoder; brothers, John, Howard and Heil; half-sister, Susie Worthington; and nephew, John C. Griffith. Survived by brothers Orie "Buck" Griffith, Penfield, N.Y. and Vinton "Bun" Griffith and companion, Lerene Murray, Somerset and nieces and nephews, C. Dwight Barron, Sara Jane Handwork, Lolalee Wagner, Norma Jean Hildreth, William Griffith, Mabel Shetler and Robert and Dan Yoder. Also survived by numerous great-nieces and nephews. Longtime member of St. Andrew's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Boswell. Retired cafeteria employee for the North Star School District with 27 years of service. Had been an avid card player for many years. Friends received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Hoffman Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Allegheny Street, Boswell, where service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday. Larry C.
