  WINTERS
  
  Mrs. Villa E. Winters, 85, White Star Village, Jennerstown,
  pronounced dead Aug. 8, 1976, at home.  Born July 18, 1891, in
  Westmoreland County, daughter of Henry A. and Catherine C. (Rhodes)
  Smith.  Preceded in death by parents; husband, Hugh and a sister,
  Amber, wife of James Park Reed.  Survived by an adopted daughter,
  Mrs. June R. Shaffer and adopted grandchildren; Janell J. and Edward
  J. Shaffer, all of Boswell.  Member of Baldwin Community Methodist
  Church, Carrick Chapter 231, Order of the Eastern Star and Braddock
  Trail Chapter National Society Daughters of American Revolution.  Was
  a retired secretary for the A & P Tea Co., having been employed for
  over 40 years prior to her retirement in 1956.  Friends received from
  2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at the Joseph H. Hoffman Funeral Home, 227
  Allegheny St., Boswell, where services will be held at 10 a.m.
  Wednesday with the Rev. Martin L. Kaufman officiating.  Interment,
  Jefferson Memorial Park, South Hills, Pittsburgh.  In lieu of
  flowers, family requests donations be made to the Heart or Cancer
  funds.
