Wise, 67, Hyndman RD 1, died Jan. 25, 1988 in Washington (D.C) Hospital Center. Born in Wilkinsburg Sept. 3, 1920, he was the son of the late Paul A. and Blanche (Leydig) Wise. A graduate of California State University of Pennsylvania, he was a retired school teacher, having taught at Washington Junior High School, Cumberland, Md. A member of the National Education Association, he was a Marine Corps veteran of World War II, where he served in the Pacific Theater. Surviving are his widow, Mary Ellen (Cook) Wise, San Diego, Calif.; Charles R. Wise and Douglas E. Wise, both of Cumberland, Md.; one daughter, Mrs. Reeve Shaffer, Hyndman RD 1; one brother, Ray Wise, Wadsworth, Ohio; and seven grandchildren. Friends were received at the Harvey H. Zeigler Funeral Home where services were conducted Thursday at 1 p.m. by the Rev. Leroy Logsdon. Interment, Hyndman Cemetery. Pallbearers were Tim Martin, Roger Martin, Allan Twigg, Jim Shertzer, Mike Funk and Buck Smith. The Republic, February 4, 1988 [W1583]
