Witt in the presence of her beloved Lord and Savior on April 17, 2001. Elva was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years on May 6, 1998, in 1977 by her infant son John Mark and her father, John W. Hatfield Sr., in 1996. Elva is survived by six children and 16 grandchildren: Christopher J. Witt of Canton, Ohio; Steven M. Witt of Virginia Beach, Va.; E. Alicia and Carl Siegfried and son Jordon of Harnedsville; Torrey and Amy Witt and sons, Alan, Torrey and Benjamin of Markleysburg; Suzi and Bruce Tifft and sons, Aaron, Nathan and Reagan and daughter Kaitlin of Oklahoma City, Okla.; and Carla and David Showman and sons, Joshua, Jonathan and Josiah and daughters, Jillian, Jihrleah, Johanna, Jessica and Jordana of Tulsa, Okla. Elva is also survived by her mother, Ella Mae Hatfield of Connellsville, her sister, Georgetta and Donald Schroyer of Rockwell, N.C., and her brothers, Paul and Cynthia Hatfield of Connellsville and John and Rebecca Hatfield Jr., of California. Elva and Vernon served the Lord faithfully during their 40 years of marriage in the following churches: Fort Hill, Fair Oaks, Ursina, Sandspring, Md., Keeler Glade, Md., Markleysburg, Bethel Park, Christian Church of Harnedsville, Sugarloaf Church of Ohiopyle and Zion Church of Connellsville. They were also founders and directors of Camp Wildwood of Markleysburg, Bethel Park Christian Center of Harnedsville and Laurel Highlands Home Educators Assoc. Visitation was held on Sunday and will be held from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at Crawford Funeral Home, Route 40, Farmington, where funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday.
