   September 26, 1920 - September 1, 2005 
  
  Gladys E. Witte, 84, formerly of Wellersburg, died on Thursday, September 1,
  2005, at Beverly Health Care Meyersdale Manor, Meyersdale, PA, where she had
  been a resident for the past few years. 
  She was born on September 26, 1920, in Wellersburg, she was a daughter of the
  late Lloyd E. and Mamie (Gomer) Sturtz. 
  She was also preceded in death by her husband, Joseph T. Witte, a son, Charles
  J. Witte, and a sister, Thelma Shook. 
  Surviving are children: Richard A. Witte, Wellersburg, and Geraldine Offutt,
  LaVale, Md.; a brother, Lloyd E. Sturtz, Butler; a sister, Madeline Kirby,
  Grantsville, Md.; six grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and numerous
  nieces and nephews. 
  Mrs. Witte was a member of Wellersburg United Methodist Church. 
  She had worked for many years as a housekeeper. 
  Friends were received at the Harvey H. Zeigler Funeral Home, 169 Clarence
  Street, Hyndman, on Saturday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services were
  conducted at the funeral home on Sunday, September 4, at 2 p.m. the Rev. Ken L.
  Korns officiating. 
  Interment was in Restlawn Memorial Park, LaVale.
