Born July 8, 1896, in Czechoslovakia. Preceded in death by parents, two sons, Staff Sgt. Joseph, killed in action during World War II, Jan. 10, 1945; Michael, died Sept. 23, 1970. Survived by widow, the former Mary Kathryn Ondeyka; and two children, Mary, wife of John Stankan, Bedford RD 3; John, married to the former Julia Wanko, Hagerstown, Md.; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Member of Holy Cross Catholic Church, Jerome, UMWA, Tire Hill Local No. 998; and Jerome Volunteer Fire Department. Celebrated 62nd wedding anniversary March 1981. Retired employee of former Hillman Coal and Coke Co., Jerome. Friends were received Thursday evening and will be received until 9 p.m. Friday at Hoffman Funeral Home, 409 Main St., Boswell, where wake service will be held at 8 p.m. Friday. Mass of Christian Burial at 9 a.m. Saturday at Holy Cross Church, the Rev. Hubert Konieczny, O.F.M. Conv., officiating. Interment, church cemetery. Daily American, April 3, 1981 [W1665]
