    WOOD 
    
    William Jesse Wood Sr., 57, Rockwood, died July 7, 1984, at
  Somerset Community Hospital.  Born March 26, 1927, in Conway, a son
  of the late Harry S. and Florence (Truver) Wood.  He is survived by
  his wife, Kathleen (Bryan) Wood; three sons: Harry Edward, and
  William Jesse Jr., both of Centerville, Texas; and Patrick Bryan, at
  home; one daughter, Vickie Lynn, wife of Ralph Carolla, Chalk Hill;
  three granddaughters; one grandson; and one brother, Dr. John T. Wood
  of Baden.  He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother,
  Harry S. Wood Jr.  His death terminates a marriage union of 31
  years.  He operated the Wood Funeral Home in Rockwood for the past 25
  years.  He was a graduate of the Pittsburgh College of Mortuary
  Science.  He was a member of St. Luke's Lutheran Church, Rockwood. 
  He was a member of the national, the state, and the Somerset County
  Funeral Directors Association.  A veteran of World War II, he served
  in the U.S. Marine Corps.  He was a member of the Rockwood American
  Legion and the F. & A.M. Lodge of Rochester.  Friends will be
  received in the William J. Wood Funeral Home Tuesday 2-4 and 7-9
  p.m., where services will be conducted Wednesday at 2 p.m., the Rev.
  Gene Abel officiating.  Interment, I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Rockwood.  In
  lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the pediatric
  ward of Somerset Community Hospital.
