WORKMAN Effie Jane Workman, 84, of Springs, died early Monday morning, Feb. 25, 1974, in Meyersdale Community Hospital. Born April 14, 1889, in Elk Lick Township, she was a daughter of the late William J. and Eliza (Ferguson) Shumaker. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Solomon E. Workman. Surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Alice Keller, Pittsburgh; and Mrs. Stella Brallier, Somerset; a brother, Canon Edwin F. Shumaker, of Penney Farms, Fla.; a sister-in-law, Mrs. Beulah Showalter, with whom she made her home; and many nieces and nephews. She was raised in Elk Lick Township, and joined the Maple Glen Church of the Brethren. Most of her adult life was spent in Pittsburgh, where she was a charter member of the Pittsburgh Church of the Brethren. Funeral service was held Wednesday afternoon in Price Funeral Home, Meyersdale, with Rev. Daniel J. Whitacre officiating. Interment in Maple Glen Cemetery, Elf Lick Township.
