Woy Sr., 63, West Catherine Street, Somerset, died Aug. 4, 1985, in Somerset Community Hospital. Born Aug. 25, 1921, in Somerset, son of late Jacob and Mary (Martin) Woy. Survived by wife, former Jean Hostetler; and these children; Daniel J. Jr., Friedens RD 2; Barbara and Sandra, both of Somerset; and Amy, wife of William Carroll, Somerset; seven grandchildren: David and Jason Woy, Elizabeth, Lucas, April and Daniel Woy III, and Benjamin Carroll. Brother of Catherine DeVore, Rockwood RD; and Arthur, Somerset RD 5. Half-brother of Herbert Woy, Johnstown; and Dorothy Miller, Somerset. Veteran of World War II having served overseas. Received Purple Heart. Member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Somerset; Somerset VFW Post 554, and Laurel Ridge Sportsman's Association. Owner and operator of Daniel J. Woy Plumbing and Heating. Death ended marriage union of 38 years. Friends will be received 7-9 p.m. Monday and 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at Robert H. Halverson Funeral Home. Service at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Trinity Lutheran Church, Pastor Greg Anderson officiating. Interment, Somerset County Memorial Park.
