WOY, Elva M.

Elva M. Woy, 76, Boswell, Lincoln Township, died Dec. 21, 2006, in Johnstown. 
Born June 24, 1930, in Oliver Township. She is the daughter of the late Ralph P. 
and Mary (Wilson) Murfin. Also preceded in death by her husband, Jerry T. Woy; 
two sisters; and an infant brother. Survived by children, Kenneth Lee Woy, San 
Diego; Thomas J. Woy, Boswell; Susan Ray Harvey, Salt Lake City; and Michael T. 
Woy, Boswell; grandchildren, Joanne Popernack, Benjamin Popernack, Hannah Harvey 
and Misty Dawn Woy; great-grandchildren, Sue Lou Woy and Mia Popernack. Sister 
of Clara Andrews, McVeytown and Frank Murfin, Grove City, Ohio. A 1948 graduate 
of McVeytown High School, retired cook for Meals on Wheels and the Somerset 
County Area Senior Center. Also was a waitress at Lamonica's Restaurant. A 
memorial service will be held 1 p.m. Dec. 30 in the Laurel Hill Tabernacle, 
Jennerstown. The Rev. Gary Anderson officiating. Interment will be private. 
Arrangements under the direction of the Robert H. Halverson Funeral Home.
