"Greenie" Woytek, 80, of Berlin died Nov. 5, 1998 at Meadow View Nursing Center. Born Jan. 8, 1918. Son of John and Mary (Secak) Woytek. Preceded in death by parents, sister Mary Suray and also several step-brothers and step-sisters. Survived by his wife of 52 years the former Catherine Diveley, son Charles of Baltimore, Md., and grandchildren Catherine and Charles Jr. Brother of Catherine Shunk of Somerset, Agnes Woytek, Weirton, W.Va., Julie Savina of Chicago, Ill. and George Woytek of Greensburg. World War II Army veteran having received the Purple Heart and Silver Star. Former Co-owner of East End Tavern, Berlin. Member of St. Gregory's Catholic Church, Macdonaldton, the Slovik Catholic Sokol, and the Berlin American Legion. Charter member of the Berlin VFW. Life member of DAV and the Order of the Purple Heart. Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday (today) at Deaner Funeral Home, Berlin, where Wake Service will be held at 8 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at St. Gregory's Catholic Church, Rev. Donald W. Dusza. Interment, church cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to Somerset "In-Touch" Hospice. Graveside Military Rite by Berlin American Legion and VFW.
