Wright, aged almost 82 years, born at Grantsville, Md., died at his home in Boynton, last Monday at 8 o'clock p.m. after a lingering illness covering the greater portion of the last year or more. Just what caused his death is not definitely known, as the degree of the illness from which he suffered for about a year varied a great deal, and at times there were pronounced symptoms of one malady, and at other times of one or more others. His death seems to have been brought about by a complication of diseases, one of which was diagnosed as cancer of the stomach not long before he died. By the death of Mr. Wright Elk Lick Township lost one of its most exemplary citizens, his devoted wife, a steadfast and faithful companion, and his children a kind and loving father. He was a man of honesty and honor, kind and courteous to all, and will be greatly missed in the community where he lived the latter years of his life. His entire life was lived in Elk Lick and Greenville Townships in Somerset County, Pa., and in Garrett and Allegheny Counties, Md. Most of his life was devoted to farming, and for a period of about 25 years, he was one of the managers of the large Graham farm, a company owned place near Frostburg, Md. The latter years of his life were spent in retirement in the village of Boynton, where he possessed a comfortable home, and lived at peace with all the world. He was a son of the late John and Rebecca Stout Wright, and was one of eleven children, now all deceased except John M. Wright of Salisbury, Mrs. Ruhamma Hooe of Oakland, California, and Mrs. Mattie Winter of Wilkinsburg, Pa. He is also survived by his wife, two daughters and one son, namely, Mrs. John Baer of Butler, Pa., Mrs. Bittner of Sand Patch, and Albert Wright of Everett, Pa. The funeral was conducted by Rev. A. M. Wright, pastor of the Salisbury Reformed Church, and was held at the Wright home in Boynton at 2 o'clock, Wednesday afternoon. The burial arrangement was in charge of Funeral Director W. C. Price, and interment was made in the Odd Fellows' Cemetery at Salisbury. The funeral was largely attended, and many sorrowing relatives and friends followed the remains of Mr. Wright to their last resting place. Meyersdale Republican, November 3, 1932
